It\u2019s up to adults<\/p>\n
To set the stage<\/p>\n
Parents and educators<\/p>\n
Need to work<\/p>\n
On the same page<\/p>\n
Open communication<\/p>\n
With accountability in place<\/p>\n
That goes for children, too<\/p>\n
Weak excuses<\/p>\n
Must be erased<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Technology can never replace adults<\/p>\n
It can\u2019t replace proper guidance<\/p>\n
We all know that the internet<\/p>\n
Can expose children<\/p>\n
To sex and violence<\/p>\n
It also can be addictive<\/p>\n
Children constantly<\/p>\n
In front of screens<\/p>\n
Exposed to manipulative marketing<\/p>\n
And hate speech<\/p>\n
That\u2019s so obscene<\/p>\n
Alternatives<\/p>\n
Are easy to find<\/p>\n
When we take the time to look<\/p>\n
Athletics<\/p>\n
Developing talents<\/p>\n
Learning skills<\/p>\n
And reading books<\/p>\n
Time with technology<\/p>\n
Should never go unchecked<\/p>\n
Online<\/p>\n
Predators lurk<\/p>\n
And so our children<\/p>\n
We must protect<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Sloth and apathy<\/p>\n
Should never be accepted<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t fall for the belief<\/p>\n
That only poor children<\/p>\n
Can be neglected<\/p>\n
Not teaching a child to earn,<\/p>\n
Stay active,<\/p>\n
And set goals<\/p>\n
Is setting them up to fail<\/p>\n
This eventually<\/p>\n
Takes its toll<\/p>\n
A child who\u2019s not guided<\/p>\n
Won\u2019t become<\/p>\n
A productive adult<\/p>\n
Coddling laziness<\/p>\n
Is no better<\/p>\n
Than verbal assaults<\/p>\n
Speak truth into our children<\/p>\n
That success<\/p>\n
Takes work and effort<\/p>\n
Regardless of what they possess<\/p>\n
They should strive<\/p>\n
For even better<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
More important than gained knowledge<\/p>\n
Is a positive attitude<\/p>\n
No-one can keep a job<\/p>\n
With a habit of being rude<\/p>\n
Adults must set the example<\/p>\n
Show empathy<\/p>\n
And also respect<\/p>\n
Teach children to spread love<\/p>\n
While keeping anger in check<\/p>\n
The next generation<\/p>\n
Can succeed<\/p>\n
When it\u2019s their turn<\/p>\n
But if the village fails the children<\/p>\n
Then the whole village<\/p>\n
